The steering wheel cover will serve as a point of contact with personnel regarding the state of equipment, its readiness and vehicle reminders.
The steering wheel cover should always be reinstalled on the vehicle steering wheel as found. If the steering wheel cover is not found on the steering wheel, this finding must be reported to administration.
The cover reminds users of electrical connections, supplies, updates and changes to equipment. If equipment on the vehicle changes, notes should be made on a colored card and placed in the pocket clearly identifying what changes have been made.
Do not cover up the summary sheet. For example, if the AED has been removed from the vehicle, do not cover up the summary sheet so it shows only “AED missing.” The vehicle could be out of service for another reason and covering up the out-of-service sign could lead to someone using a vehicle which is in an unsafe condition. If there’s any question, check.
