Body

SUMMARY: Under general direction from the Board of Directors, directs and supervises through subordinate supervisors the service delivery of the Fire Department; manages administration, supervision and operation of fire, rescue and emergency services. Plans and directs operations including policies, staff development, budgeting, purchasing and program implementation.

Top duties:
1. Serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Concho Fire District.
2. Plans and controls hiring, promotions, and work assignments of all career and volunteer personnel.
3. Fosters productive labor/management relations with career and volunteer groups.
4. Develops short and long term goals in concert with the District mission.
5. Ensures consistency and fairness in supervision, training, evaluation and discipline.
6. Prepares, administers, abides by and enforces District policies.
7. Responsible fiscal stewardship.
8. Advises the Board on public safety issues.
16. Attends scheduled Board meetings and presents the monthly Chief report, unless excused.

Minimum qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent; 10 years increasingly responsible fire/rescue/EMS including 5 years managerial with at least 2 years at Captain or above. Valid AZ DL; no reckless driving or DUI conviction and no license suspension in the last three years.
