Purpose
Company officer. Lieutenant supervises at most 3 and reports to Captain or above.

SUMMARY: Supervises and directs one or more fire companies in routine duties and on fire or EMS scenes; acts as incident commander; enforces rules; provides training; performs firefighting duties as needed. Lieutenant’s will only be required to supervise 3 personnel at any given time and report to captain or above. Top duties: direct fire and emergency operations (medical, fireground, hazmat, public events); supervise, train and evaluate assigned personnel and station duties; maintain and enforce rules; ensure incident reports, journals and time sheets are complete; inspections and fire investigations; respond with assigned company; first aid / assist paramedics; public education; may serve as acting Chief. Minimum qualifications: 4 years fire experience. District Firefighter and Engineer/Driver task books or approved equivalent. Current AZ Firefighter II (or IFSAC / ProBoard) or Paramedic. HCP CPR. Valid AZ DL. Fire Instructor 1 / Fire Officer 1 preferred.
