Purpose

PURPOSE: Establish a policy addressing the appropriate use of personal protective equipment. Ties to SOG §5 and §7: - 3 minutes or less from street clothes to on-air, or you do not enter IDLH. - PPE is the member’s responsibility — wear it, care for it, inspect it. - SCBA on interior attack, vehicle fire, or any atmosphere in question. - Turnouts or Wildland PPE on every call except EMS-only. - Issued PPE is District property and comes back on separation.
