Purpose
Suppression, rescue, basic medical, station and apparatus work.
SUMMARY: Under close supervision, performs fire suppression and fire prevention; emergency rescue and basic medical; tools and power equipment; maintains department equipment, vehicles and facilities. Eligible for volunteer stipend.
Top duties: respond, stretch hose, operate nozzles and ladders, surface water rescue, SCBA; operate extinguishers, power tools, forcible entry tools; non-EMT personnel may assist EMS under supervision; inspections and public education; training; station and apparatus maintenance; may drive as needed.
Minimum qualifications: HS / GED. Valid driver’s license. HCP CPR. Complete the recruit task book within six months.
